Our Interview and Onboarding Process

 Application Received

Once we receive your application, a member of our HR Team will reach out and schedule a phone interview.

Phone Interview

Our phone interviews are a quick 5-10 minute phone call conducted by HR. We use this phone call to get to know you better, see if you could be a good addition to the team, and answer any necessary qualifying questions.

In-Person Interview

HR will setup an in-person interview with the hiring manager of the department you applied for. They will get to know you, explain the responsibilities and qualifications for the role. HR will also be present to answer any questions regarding benefits and the hiring process.

Contingent Offer

Once HR and the hiring manager find you to be the top candidate for the role, we will send you a contingent offer based on successful completion of a background check, driving abstract, drug test, and reference check.

Post Offer

HR will reach out and find a start date that works best for you and the hiring manager.

First Day

Your first day will consist of onboarding paperwork, tour of our computer system, tour of our dealership, and an introduction to your peers and the store management.

First Month

Your first month will be a flurry of information as you learn the basics of the job, how our dealership operates (we're a bit different than most in the best ways possible!), and build relationships with an experienced employee to have a "mentor" here at Carter. We will also have you join an orientation meeting where you get to meet the entire HR and Payroll team and our Executive Leadership team while we cover benefits, company facts, perks, and different programs you're eligible for (plus you'll get free lunch)!
